Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet officially offloaded her titanic NYC penthouse.
The sprawling duplex, located in the West Chelsea district, has now sold for $6.8 million (US$5.3 million), according to the Post.
Winslet first put the property up for sale for US$5.69 million last November. She had previously listed it as a $30,000-a-month rental.

At just over 280 sq m, the loft features four bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms — and an enormous (for New York standards) 160 sqm roof deck.
Some of the most eye-catching interior details include a great room with a gas fireplace, an open chef’s kitchen, whitewashed wide-plank oak floors, 4m-tall ceilings and lots of built-in shelving for storage and display.
The main bedroom includes a huge walk-in wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom with a claw foot bath, separate shower, and dual vanities.

Outside, the wraparound rooftop terrace offers views of the High Line, Hudson River, and city skyline, with plenty of space to throw a party.
In 2004, the ‘Mare of Easttown’ star purchased the penthouse with her former husband, the director Sam Mendes, for $5 million. After the couple divorced, the actress bought out Mendes’ ownership for $2.15 million in 2012.
Winslet now spends most of her time with her third husband, Edward Abel Smith — billionaire Richard Branson’s nephew — at a historic estate outside London that she bought in 2011, according to Variety.
Winslet has been gripping audiences recently in the gripping drama, ‘Mare of Easttown’ on Binge. Her many movie credits include “Sense and Sensibility,” “Revolutionary Road,” and “The Reader,” for which she won an Oscar.
