India has reported a record rise in COVID-19 deaths in the past twenty-four hour period. There were 4,187 fatalities recorded taking the overall toll to just under 240,000. New infections rose by 401,078 - increasing the pandemic's total to 21.9 million cases. It's the third consecutive day the country has detected more than 400, 000 positive tests.
