The big talking point out of the first half will be how bad is Addin Fonua-Blake’s calf? He didn’t look too troubled on the sideline, but the heavy strapping is on and it’s not exactly a problem you can easily run off.
Quick check of the stats.
The Warriors have had 56 per cent of the ball, but weirdly have spent more time in their own half that that of the opposition. Being on the end of a 5-2 penalty count doesn’t help.
It doesn’t seem like we’ve had much of a chance to talk about Roger Tuivasa-Sheck in that first half, but he’s already run for 151 metres. It will be such a shame for rugby league lovers to see him in union next year. Wayde Egan (25) tops all tacklers for the Warriors while Tohu Harris (72 metres and 22 tackles) has been stellar, as usual.
Bradman Best has got through plenty of work for the Knights with 91 metres, while David Klemmer has provided the grunt up front (83 metres). Tyson Frizell is proving why he’s worth every dollar for Newcastle too.
Two Warriors players on report, too. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown for a crusher tackle on Hymel Hunt and Jazz Tevaga for a little knee on Bradman Best. Cooper Cronk telling Fox League the first might attract the attention of the match review committee, but not the second. Who’s to argue?
