Paris will enter a month-long lockdown in an effort to combat a fresh surge in coronavirus cases. Residents will only be allowed to leave home for essential reasons, inter-regional travel will be banned and residents travelling more than 10 kilometres from their homes will need a permit. A nationwide curfew between 6:00pm and 6:00am remains in place.
