The Morrison government, now effectively in “minority government,” is going to have to come from behind at the next election, according to Sky News host Chris Kenny. Mr Kenny pointed to recent polls, which show Scott Morrison has “slipped behind” despite suggestions the Coalition will cruise to a federal election victory. The Liberal-held seat of Sterling in Western Australia is set to be abolished by the Australian Electoral Commission, effectively meaning the Coalition loses a seat, and the Opposition “pick up a seat in Victoria”. “So the government really at the moment, if under new boundaries, is effectively in minority government, that’s how tough it is for Scott Morrison and his team,” Mr Kenny said. “They effectively have to come from behind at the next election, they have to improve, there is no margin for them.”
