Tyson Stengle has been sacked by the Adelaide Crows after a string of off-field incidents.

The Adelaide Crows released a statement confirming that the player and club had come to an agreement to end Stengle's employment.

Stengle and fellow teammate Brad Crouch were caught by police with an illicit substance in the Adelaide CBD last year.

Both were slapped with match suspensions and Stengle was stood down from duty after the incident.

"The club has since been working with the young forward and his management to resolve the matter," the statement reads.

"Both parties have now agreed to a settlement, with the terms to remain confidential.

"The club wishes Tyson well for his future both on and off the field."

Crouch and Stengle were not charged by police, but were referred to counselling under a drug-diversion program.

"We strongly condemn this type of behaviour and Brad and Tyson have not acted in a way that reflects our values," Adelaide's head of football Adam Kelly said in a statement at the time.

Off-field issues

Stengle had faced a number of off-field issues since arriving at the Crows, including a drink-driving charge.

He returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.125 when he was pulled over by police at Morphettville in Adelaide's south-west in April, 2020.

The Adelaide Football Club fined Stengle $2,500 and suspended him for four matches following the incident.
