Someone could score a lifechanging amount of money if they win $20 million in Oz Lotto’s Tuesday draw.
It’s the biggest Oz Lotto prize offered so far this year.
The Lott’s Matt Hart said if there was just a single division one winner in this week’s Oz Lotto draw, they would automatically be the nation’s biggest lottery winner of 2021 to date.
“So far this year, $10 million has been the biggest division one prize won across all our lottery games, but that could change if someone takes home this week’s $20 million Oz Lotto jackpot,” he said.
“The last time someone scored division one in Oz Lotto was in the final days of 2020. Since then, the jackpot has been steadily climbing to reach this week’s lofty $20 million.
“Winning $20 million on Australia Day would surely deliver some big Aussie fun and help the winner make a few of their big Aussie dreams a reality.”
The last Aussie to win a $20 million Oz Lotto prize was a self-confessed country girl who scooped up the top prize in September, but kept going to work.
“A few years ago a family member had a serious accident so I am very much aware of how your life can change in the blink of an eye,” she said at the time.
“This is another one of those life-changing moments but definitely a more exciting one. You really don’t know what each day will bring. I will remember this moment for the rest of my life.
“I’ve been working for the past 30 years, and I don’t think I could give it up that easily. I’m at work at the moment. I’ve got things to do!”
The woman said she would share the prize with her family.
“They are about to become a very lucky bunch,” she said. “I definitely need a new car, so I’ll start with that.”
In 2020, 24 division one winning Oz Lotto entries across Australia collectively won more than $234 million, with eight lucky punters in NSW, seven in Victoria, five in Western Australia, three in Queensland and one in South Australia
The biggest Oz Lotto jackpot was $50 million, which was won by a North Sydney woman in July.
