Police have charged a man who allegedly spat on a woman in a Sydney McDonald’s.
The incident took place yesterday at the fast-food outlet in Kellyville Ridge when the man entered the business about 11.40am.
He ordered food and sat in the outdoor section of the restaurant but when staff told him he could not sit down because of COVID-19 restrictions, things allegedly escalated.
Police allege when the 42-year-old man refused to leave a woman inside the restaurant started filming him on her phone.
They allege the man then went up to the 34-year-old woman and allegedly spat on her face before leaving.
2GB host Ray Hadley said he had seen the video shot by the victim and the man allegedly makes a vulgar gesture at the woman before storming back into the store and spitting directly in her face.

The NSW government yesterday announced $5000 on the spot fines for anyone who spits or coughs on a health care worker or police officer.
“In my view, what we are seeking to do this afternoon is to send messages to people that I cannot actually believe do what they do,” Health Minister Brad Hazzard said.
“Unfortunately, we have had a series of incidents now where some of the most incredible frontline workers, keeping us safe, have actually had people spitting on them and people coughing on them.
“These frontline workers are caring for us and the simple fact is, we need to care for them, so this on the spot $5000 fine will send a clear message that we are all as one.
“We are telling you to stop it, or you will cop it with a $5000 fine.”
