Sky News contributor Daisy Cousens says US President Donald Trump has written one of the “loveliest” messages offering his condolences following the “shocking” death of former NBA star Kobe Bryant. Mr Trump, along with Melania Trump, passed their condolences and paid tribute to Kobe Bryant who was killed in a helicopter crash in California with four other people. The helicopter was travelling in the hills above Calabasas before it crashed and burst into flames. Mr Bryant “was such a huge name in popular culture,” Ms Cousens told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. The US President had described the athlete as one of the "truly great basketball players of all time [who] was just getting started in life”. “He loved his family so much, and had such strong passion for the future,” Mr Trump had written in a Twitter post. “I thought that was a beautiful, [a] very classy summation of the situation and a wonderful sentiment,” Ms Cousens said.
