Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar remembered his fellow great Kobe Bryant in a video tribute tweeted on January 26, hours after Bryant died in a helicopter crash. Abdul-Jabbar, who tops the NBA’s all-time scoring list, ahead of Bryant in fourth place, recalled having the “privilege” of witnessing Bryant’s 81-point game in 2006. The 72-year-old tweeted that Bryant had “inspired a whole generation of basketball players,” but added that he would “always remember him as a man who was much more than an athlete.” Bryant died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, along with eight others, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.
