
Second place is not a position Adam Le Fondre is comfortable with, and finishing runner-up to Roy Krishna in the scoring charts last season has driven the Sydney FC striker to win the A-League's Golden Boot this campaign.
The Englishman scored 18 league goals for Sydney FC last season, including two in the finals series, as the Sky Blues went on to win the A-League title. It gave him plenty to celebrate in his first year in Australia but, on a personal note, Le Fondre felt he should have scored plenty more last season.

That's why he has set himself an initial target of 19 league goals as quick as he can and a secondary one of picking up the Golden Boot at the end of the season.
"Strikers are judged on goals and I am no different. That’s what I am going to be judged on at the end of the season," he said. "If I am scoring goals, then everyone will be happy. That's my aim, the Golden Boot, and there are lot of strikers in the league who want the Golden Boot."
