The Australian's Dennis Shanahan says Kristina Kenneally “has muddied the waters for Labor” following her calls for the return of Australian foreign-fighter families from Syria. “I don’t think [Labor] would be thanking her,” Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin. Shadow Home Affairs Minister Kristina Keneally said she "would encourage the government to consider the options that are before it," in returning women and children of Australian foreign-fighter families from the region. "Kristina Kenneally has once again gone for a blanket shot on something to try and get attention, to try to appear to be more humane than Peter Dutton and the Coalition government,” Mr Shanahan said. “I think once again she’s made an error of detail and blighted a reasonable argument about trying to bring innocent people back to Australia", he said.
