A Nationals minister has admitted personally phoning a government agency that was investigating potentially illegal land clearing on her property, according to documents released to Parliament.

Bronnie Taylor, now Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women, was then an MP and Parliamentary Secretary to Deputy Premier John Barilaro when she made the phone call to the Office of Environment and Heritage on September 13, 2018.

Her call was preceded on the same day by her husband Duncan Taylor, who rang OEH saying he was the owner of the property on Springfield Road at Nimmitabel in the Monaro region of southern NSW. Mr Taylor is the brother of federal energy minister Angus Taylor.

The prompt for the calls was an OEH letter sent to the property owner Fairross Pty Ltd on 30 August, 2018, seeking assistance to "understand the nature of the clearing" of native grassland that had been reported to the agency a week earlier.
