For those of us that were born with no sense of direction, Google Maps is a lifesaver.
Except when it glitches and leads you to the middle of nowhere.
Nearly 100 Colorado drivers were misled by the app last week, when a car crash on the road leading to Denver International Airport caused Google Maps to provide a detour.
In a rush to get to the airport in time for their flights, many turned onto a narrow dirt road suggested by the app.

According to CNN, cars began sliding down the narrow dirt road which had turned into a muddy mess. Some cars got stuck, causing another traffic jam.
The drivers found themselves in an empty field with no other route options.
“There were a bunch of other cars going down (the dirt road) too, so I said, ‘I guess it’s OK.’ It was not OK,” one driver, Connie Monsees, told CNN.
Ms Monsees said she couldn’t make a U-turn as the road was only wide enough for cars to travel in single file. Along with the mud, there were two areas in particular where the road had a deep ditch that was difficult for cars to cross.
“The question is, why did Google send us out there to begin with? There was no turning back once you were out there,” she told reporters.
On her way to get her husband from the airport, she took the detour thinking she’d save time. Instead, she ended up with a semi-damaged vehicle and two extra passengers.
“I tore up the front passenger wheel well liner,” Monsees said, adding that others had it much worse. It was only thanks to her all-wheel drive that she managed to escape the situation.
She even gave two people a ride to the airport, so they wouldn’t miss their flights.
Google Maps issued the following statement to ABC News: “We take many factors into account when determining driving routes, including the size of the road and the directness of the route.
“While we always work to provide the best directions, issues can arise due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather. We encourage all drivers to follow local laws, stay attentive, and use their best judgment while driving.”
No one was injured in the incident.
