Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has finally addressed one of the most persistent — and divisive — rumours that emerged out of Avengers: Endgame.
With the universe now saved, Endgame concluded with Avenger Thor (Chris Hemsworth) joining the Guardians of the Galaxy on their ship.
Since then, rumours have persisted that an upcoming third Guardians of the Galaxy film could be titled Asgardians of the Galaxy (because Thor is king of Asgard), something fans weren’t exactly thrilled about.

Hemsworth further stoked the fire in an interview earlier this month when the actor told a journalist he would love to join the third Guardians movie and loved the rumoured name.
“Asgardians Of The Galaxy. That’s actually great. You might’ve just got me my next job. Thank you, man,” he told Cinemablend .
But Gunn has been quick to assure people that there won’t be a name change for the third film, sharing a bunch of worried messages on his Instagram story.

“Please do not let the movie be called asgardians of the galaxy,” worried fans had written.
“Don’t worry,” Gunn responded on his story.
The third instalment of Guardians won’t start filming until 2020, with Gunn back on board after he was dramatically fired and then rehired.
Gunn had been dumped over outcry over years-old tweets he had written which contained offensive jokes, however, was later reinstated as Guardians director in March after the series’ stars and fans threw their support behind him.
