United Nations Chief António Guterres has met with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern after arriving in the country for a three-day trip. The former prime minister of Portugal touched down in Auckland on Sunday for a trip with a focus on climate change policy, and to show solidarity with the victims of the Christchurch attack. Speaking to media alongside the NZ Prime MInister, Mr Guterres praised Ms Ardern’s leadership and New Zealand’s efforts to address climate change. The UN Secretary-General will also travel to a handful of Pacific nations as part of his trip to see how climate change is affecting them, in hopes he can share their stories with the world.
