Sky News host Alan Jones says the country needs to ‘lift up’ farmers and businesses that experienced losses in the Queensland floods through a National Disaster Fund providing 100 per cent compensation. Mr Jones says a disaster fund would cost the Australian taxpayer less than the cost unproductive farms would have on the economy. The Sky News host says money from the disaster fund could go towards re-stocking flood-hit and helping producers get back on their feet.
