Despite not earning an NBA deal with Toronto, Deng backed himself to earn a call-up to the NBA signing with the Toronto's highly successful G-League side Raptors 905 in the hope he could be signed to the NBA.

The Cavaliers made that dream come true on Tuesday [AEDT] when they signed him and can move him between their NBA roster and their G-League affiliates Canton Charge.

He will also join fellow Australian Matthew Dellavedova on Cleveland’s roster.

Fellow Aussies Mitch Creek (Long Island Nets) and Isaac Humphries (Erie BayHawks) are also on G-League rosters and hoping to earn NBA 10-day deals in the coming weeks as teams begin trying out players.
