Australia’s women’s side have been drawn to play Spain, China and the United States in pool play as they attempt to defend their Sydney Sevens title at Spotless Stadium next month.
After two rounds of the 2018-19 World Series, Australia sits fourth on the standings behind New Zealand, Canada and the US.
Despite their patchy recent form, John Manenti’s side should comfortably account for Spain and China on February 1 and advance to the cup quarterfinals.

“Spain, China and the USA offer three different styles of rugby that we will have to adapt to at the Sydney Sevens,” Manenti said.
“As a team, the entire squad is looking forward to playing in front of their home fans, family and friends so it really is an important tournament for us.
“We’re continuing our preparation in Sydney for the tournament and are looking forward to the challenge of playing at home.”
All matches will be broadcast live on Fox Sports.
