France is preparing to unleash armoured vehicles and thousands of police officers this weekend if violent ‘yellow vest’ protests again take place. Last weekend, anti-government protesters wreaked havoc in Paris for the fourth weekend in a row in opposition to the rising cost of living. More than 125,000 protestors demonstrated across France, igniting cars, launching flares, constructing barricades, and vandalising shops and restaurants. The violence so far is estimated to have cost the nation around one billion euros, according to the Federation of Commerce and Distribution.
