Gailey threw a seven-innings shutout, giving up just five hits and one walk, while striking out six Sydney hitters.
It comes after an unusually costly outing in his first game of the season, giving up seven runs in 5.2 innings against the Melbourne Aces last week.
But he's back to the form that saw him named Cavalry pitcher of the year last season and had Canberra manager Keith Ward referring to him as a bulldog for his tenacious pursuit of hitters.
"He was definitely in prime form. I don't know if anyone doubted that he wouldn't be," Cavalry pitching coach Brian Grening said.
"Obviously he was a little under done in his first start so we let him go to work things out and that's exactly what he did.
"He came out and refined it during the week at practice and it showed today."
Having struggled in the opening series, the Cavalry offence clicked into gear on Friday night and they carried that momentum into Saturday's double header.
But rather than explode into action, like they did on Friday with a five-run inning, this time they inflicted death by a series of cuts.
Cavalry designated-hitter Zach Wilson, first-base Craig Massey and third-base Cam Warner all brought runners home in the opening three innings, before Justin Lopez did the same in the fifth.
Robbie Perkins completed the comfortable win when he smashed a home run in the final frame.
All it took was a two-run second innings to win the second game, with Imanaga dominating the Sydney hitters - striking out 10 and giving up just three hits in his six innings.
"We're kind of back in the same scenario as we were last year when we got a bunch of frontline starting forces that are going to give you quality starts every week," Grening said.
"Only difference is we've got a bullpen to go with it, which makes it a pretty exciting year."
The Cavalry will look to complete a clean sweep in the fourth-and-final game of the Sydney series on Sunday at 4pm.
