Tom McDermott is one win away from a $50,000 pay day after taking out the NSW Showjumping Championships in Canberra over the weekend.
McDermott won the NSW Country Championships in Wagga a week earlier and if he wins at the Willinga Park grand final in December, he'll clinch the triple crown and collect his bonus.
Superb performances over two qualifying rounds and the final saw McDermott and his horse Elegance De La Charmille secure victory ahead of Murrumbateman rider Stephen Dingwall.
McDermott has been almost unbeatable this year and he was joined on the podium by best friend Brooke Langbecker who secured third aboard Quintago 1.
More than 400 riders converged on Canberra, which hosted the championships for the second straight year, after prizemoney spiked by 30 per cent to $75,000.
