Looks the break-through race for local mare 3. Savanna Jeune. After debuting in a good quality maiden, has finished off okay at his last two and gets a lovely spot on the map here just off the speed.

Dangers: Well-bred filly 10. Sleepy Heart was easy in betting at Ipswich on debut but still finished off nicely just behind the place-getters and drops in weight for her second assignment; while I'm expecting big improvement second start from the Port Macquarie visitor 7. I'm Fluent.

How to play it: Savanna Jeune to win and box 3-7-10 in exacta

Race 3 C, G and E MAIDEN PLATE (1015m)

Open race at set weights, but locally-trained 5. Longtga is ready to break through at his eighth start. Has been well backed both runs this prep finishing on late, although a little wayward in running, but third run back expect him to be ridden even quieter.

Dangers: Locally-trained 8. Mustaknown has a string of placings from 13 career starts, often well in the market, and should attack the line nicely second-up from the draw; while 2. Hashtag Hero has incredibly run eight seconds from 17 starts, nearly always coming from off the speed and gets a nice run again midfield.

How to play it: Back Longtga to win and box 2-5-8 in exacta

Race 4 BM 58 HCP (1015m)

Back in quality from a three-year-old fillies race at Doomben, very keen on 1. She's Choosie from the nice draw and with a 2kg claim. Unbeaten on her home track and over the trip, she should park a few lengths off them and go bang in the straight.

Dangers: Local mare 3. Princess Elle has won her last two and will be right behind the speed from an inside draw, although has earnt every bit of the 60.5kgs. 4. Whonicked De Lolly has only won one from 12, but has ability and some weight relief to charge home late. Former Victorian mare 5. Smug Satisfaction trialled nicely for his new Gold Coast trainer and is a big watch first up.

How to play it: Back She's Choosie to win

Race 5 MAIDEN HCP (1720m)

Open affair with half going around for practice, but two runners are primed to break through. Ballina-trained 1. Mary's Girl is drawn wide, but pattern suggests she'll drift back, find a spot and launch late, and her two runs since switching from Victoria have been sound. Port Macquarie visitor 4. Backhouse Frilly has had a slow start to her career, but put the writing on the wall finishing hard in a similar race last start. Drops in weight.

Dangers: Hard to make a case for anything else except Beaudesert-trained 2. Rothford who is hard fit and another who will drift back and finish strongly.

How to play it: Back both Mary's Girl and Backhouse Frilly to win

Race 6 BM 58 HCP (2375m)

Typical battle of modest stayers, but loved the recent run of 2. His Kyllachy on this track powering home from midfield after striking trouble to run 4. Golden Words to a long neck, despite a betting drift, and meets that eight-year-old now better at the weights and from the draw.

Dangers: Gold Coast-trained 6. Tang Dynasty took a while to break his Maiden, but blew them away as an odds-on fancy at Ipswich last start and could go on with it here; while don't underestimate 7. Miss Zodiac because of a poor winning strike-rate, has hit the line nicely from well back every run this prep and gets a cosy draw again back in the field.

How to play it: Back His Kyllachy to win and Box 2-6-7 in exacta

Race 7 Cl 2 HCP (1115m)

Ballina mare 4. Woodditton normally comes to hand quickly and gets the fence draw for her return. As long as the inside holds up, she must be in the finish over this trip.

Dangers: Speedster 2. Plectrum won last start on this track and looks well placed again, although final 100m is a query. Gold Coast mare 8. Cliodhna consistently finds the line from off the speed but has a wide gate to overcome while 1. Viking Raid is not renowned as a fresh performer, but did win a Gold Coast trial and claims 3kg for his return in a race of little depth.

How to play it: Back Woodditton to win

Race 8 C1 Hcp (1420m)

Tough one to finish, but love the placement for locally trained 4. Caro Cavallo. Didn't let punters down flying home from a mile back to break his Maiden last start and gets in nicely at the weights. Again, relying on the inside to hold up, but has the rider to steer away from the fence at the 600m if required.
Dangers: Doubt there are many, but keep a watch on Kempsey mare 7. Karlu Dreaming who broke through last start in a Taree maiden and loves this trip.

How to play it: Back Caro Cavallo to win
