NSW captain Ruan Sims has ruled herself out of the inaugural Women’s State of Origin after undergoing hand surgery and preparing for a nose operation.
Sims was set to lead the Blues against Queensland at North Sydney Oval on June 22 but revealed her multiple knocks would relegate her to the sidelines.
“I went in for surgery on Thursday and had a plate put into my fifth metacarpal … then next week I’ll be going in to get my nose operated on as well,” Sims told the Nine Network on Monday night.
