There are few things the BBC likes more than elderly people behaving badly amid an alarming body count, which makes it fortunate indeed that their new comedy-drama series sets its second episode in an old people's home. It's really just Midsomer Murders with jokes added, although some would argue comedy is too strong a word for a scene involving a chase with an elderly woman on a motorised scooter. It's a feelgood tale of murder and loneliness, with the unexplained mystery of why a man whose wife has been killed would hire private investigators instead of relying on the police. Small details, perhaps.
