France look good things to emerge from what otherwise might be a rather trappy group, with all three other teams fancying their chances of making it to the next round.

Les Bleus  have excellent attacking players - headed by Antoine Griezmann - top midfielders such as Paul Pogba and exciting youngsters like Kylian Mbappe in a squad which will look to progress deep into the tournament.

Denmark, who  will be driven by the talented Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, are defensively well organised - their goalkeeper is Leicester's Premier League winnin shot stopper Kasper Schmeichel - but their lack of a top level forward might stymie them.

Australia have the same problem - hence the continued presence of 38-year-old Tim Cahill in the squad.
But the Socceroos have spent nearly a month drilling under coach Bert van Marwijk and if they keep things tight at the back their strength and commitment might surprise their more fancied rivals.
Peru should not be underestimated.

Back in the big time after a 36-year absence, the South Americans have looked good in pre World Cup warm up games, beating Scotland and Saudi Arabia comfortably.

The Peruvians also got a boost from the late decision to overturn star forward Paolo Guerrero's drugs ban , thus allowing him to lead his country in Russia.

Denmark or Peru will be fancied to take second spot in this group, but the Socceroos could also spring a surprise.
