On Thursday Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox had a mini Friends reunion, attending the AFI Gala in Los Angeles.

The close friends walked the red carpet in co-ordinating black dresses and posed for photos together.

Inside the event Aniston and Cox made an appearance on stage to pay tribute to George Clooney, a long time friend of the pair who was receiving a lifetime achievement award at this year’s gala.

Earlier this year Aniston sparked rumours that a Friends reunion episode was in the works during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“Anything is a possibility,” Aniston said. “I mean, George Clooney got married. That’s like an, ‘Anything can happen.’”

However Friends co-creator David Crane quashed any chance of a revival during an appearance on TheWrap’s Emmy Series comedy showrunners panel this week.

“Never happening. Never. We did it! It’s done,” he said.

Fortunately for fans Crane said Rachel and Ross would definitely still be together, explaining: “Yes. Come on, they worked really hard, ten years.”

Friends aired for ten years, with its 2004 finale episode one of the highest watched TV moments in history.
