Finding the right opponent for North Melbourne's shut-down specialist Ben Jacobs won't come much tougher than it does against Geelong on Saturday, with Kangaroos' coach Brad Scott identifying at least six viable options for the 26-year-old.
The six candidates, in no particular order, are Joel Selwood, Patrick Dangerfield, Gary Ablett, Mitch Duncan, Sam Menegola and Tim Kelly.
North Melbourne's Scott did not seem overly perturbed at the prospect, delivering a sobering truth in an understated manner.
"They're a very deep midfield," Scott said.
The half-dozen midfielders he nominated were all awarded coaches' votes for their performance against the Gold Coast with the order of merit on that occasion being Duncan (10 votes), Ablett (eight), Menegola (three), Dangerfield, Selwood and Kelly (two each).
