A TV soap star has made a desperate plea for thieves to return his beloved Bulldog after the pooch was brazenly stolen from Melbourne’s north east yesterday.

Matt Wilson, who stars as Aaron Brennan on the long running series Neighbours, said his one-year-old French Bulldog Timba was snatched from outside an Officeworks store in Chirnside Park about 2.30pm on Friday.

“Our little girl has been stolen … please spread the message however you can,” Mr Wilson wrote on social media.

Police allege dognappers unclipped Timba’s lead while she was tied up on the footpath outside the store on Maroondah Hwy.

Mr Wilson said the much-loved family pet was being looked after by a dog sitter at the time of the theft.

The TV star said “no questions will be asked” if Timba is returned and are offering a reward for anyone who finds her.

“We know the power of the people and hope that will bring her home,” Mr Wilson told his 90,000 Instagram followers.

When last seen, Timba was wearing a black collar and she is microchipped.

Earlier this week, the actor made history after filming the first same-sex marriage to air on Australian television.

Police have released images of Timba in the hope someone may recognise her and provide information on her current whereabouts.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
