He was involved in a scuffle with the arresting police, lashing out at officers while handcuffed and taking a swing at a camera filming him as he was being walked through the airport.

He was later charged at Kogarah police station with supplying prohibited drugs, possessing ammunition, aggravated firearm offences, dealing in the proceeds of crime and participating in a criminal group. He was also charged with resisting arrest relating to the scuffle at the airport.

His younger brother, Henry Vaiusu, 32, was arrested with two others by tactical police in a vehicle stop on O’Riordan Street, Alexandria, at 3.45pm on Thursday.

He was also charged with supplying a prohibited drug, dealing in the proceeds of crime, participating in a criminal group and aggravated firearms offences.

"It is a dramatic operation that occurred yesterday," State Crime Command’s Detective Chief Superintendent Stuart Smith said.

"Raptor since 2009 have made various significant arrests. This seizure is significant in terms of the types of weapons seized and the cash seized.

"The drugs seized are worth over half a million dollars."

Neither brother applied for bail when they appeared at Sutherland Local Court on Friday and both will reappear in Central Local Court in July.
