A desperate search has been launched for a young boy who vanished from a Melbourne train station.

Max Serraglio, 12, was last seen at Camberwell Railway Station, in Melbourne’s east, Monday.

Police said they have concerns for his welfare due to his age and a medical condition.

It is believed Max frequents the Camberwell area.

He is described as approximately 160cm tall, with a thin build and has blonde/brown hair with a long fringe.

He was last seen wearing black Fila tracksuit pants, a floral windcheater and was carrying a black backpack.

An image of Max has been released in the hope someone recognises him.

Anyone with information about Max is urged to contact Boroondara Police Station on 8851 1111.
