Mark Humphries has roasted Barnaby Joyce over his decision to conduct a paid interview with Channel Seven's Sunday Night program.
The former deputy prime minister and his partner, former media adviser Vikki Campion, have reportedly inked a deal worth around $150,000.
The SBS comedian played a fictional Nationals MP called Barabbas Loins on Monday night's episode of The Feed. As part of the skit, the character represents the fake electorate of Offalseed and is the "minister for toilet snakes".
"After careful consideration of my political ideals and bank balance, I have decided to sell my story," Humphries said while dressed in an Akubra hat. "I've listened to the people of my electorate and their message is clear: they want to see me in primetime.
"It was hard to decide on the right media outlet. I would do an interview with 60 Minutes, but I'm looking to exploit my children not kidnap them. Ultimately, though, the story of the birth of my son is intensely personal and delicate. So I've entrusted it to the network that brought us Yummy Mummies."
