The bomb squad has been called after a suspicious item was found on a bus near Melbourne Magistrates Court.
Police are currently doing safety checks on the bus at the intersection of King and Lonsdale Streets.
"The bus was evacuated as a precaution. The Bomb Response Unit is enroute to the scene. The investigation remains ongoing," Victoria Police said in a statement.
