However the registrar's office at the university told WAtoday Ms Yates was not awarded a degree.
She was not enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering as claimed, but had started an architecture course which she did not complete, according to the university.
Fort Lewis College, where Ms Yates said she studied "petroleum engineering" from 1981 to 1982, had no record of her enrolment or of her attending the university.
The University of Phoenix did confirm Ms Yates was enrolled from 2001 to 2002 in an information technology degree, as claimed, without completing the course.
Ms Yates did not respond to requests for comment in relation to the latest claims, but told Nine News on Wednesday that LinkedIn was "a fairly informal social networking site".
"It's unfortunate that people have read into it wrong but there’s been no misrepresentations by myself to anyone, especially the Labor party," she said.
"It never said that I had my MBA, it said I was undertaking studies or something along those lines."
Labor's Darling Range candidate Colleen Yates listed an "MBA" from UWA in the education section of her LinkedIn profile, but she has not been awarded the degree.
WA Labor state secretary Matt Dixon said Ms Yates had provided the party with her academic transcript from Washington University in St Louis.
He said this confirmed the candidate's enrolment in a Bachelor's Degree.
The party was unable to provide proof of the degrees Ms Yates listed as having obtained at the university.
"The LinkedIn page has included some minor errors when it was filled in, which is not uncommon for the online site," Mr Dixon said.
"The Fort Lewis College study is from 1982, 36 years ago, Colleen doesn't have this specific record on hand and is in the process of acquiring updated records from that particular college.
"All the information provided to the party, including Colleen's CV, is accurate.
"I can reiterate the LinkedIn account was removed last week as per the standard process for candidates and is not a live site.
The party continues to back their pick for Darling Range, with Mr Dixon referring to Ms Yates as an "outstanding candidate".
"Colleen's record as an accomplished senior public servant and successful small business owner speaks for itself," Mr Dixon said.
Yesterday, WA's opposition faced claims Liberal Darling Range candidate Alyssa Hayden had also exaggerated in her LinkedIn profile.
Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said Ms Hayden listed her job title as the director of strategy and business engagement for Opposition Leader Mike Nahan, whereas she was employed as an executive and electorate officer.
Deputy Opposition Leader Liza Harvey said Labor was "mischief-making" and "muckraking" to divert scrutiny away from Ms Yates.

Darling Range candidates from both major parties have come under intense scrutiny as the byelection was caused by the resignation of former Labor MP Barry Urban, who lied about his educational qualifications and service background.
A parliamentary committee found Mr Urban provided it with a forged degree to a UK university to prove he had a qualification he was not awarded, wore fake medals at an Anzac Day service and had not served in the Balkans in late 1998 as he had claimed.
