THERE were some pretty pooped puppies around town on Sunday night.

Thousands of pooches and their people were out in force on Sunday for the 21st Million Paws Walk, a charity event for the RSPCA in Bonython Park which coincided with multiple events around the country, nine in SA.

Walk organiser Kate Jones said the event was on track to raise $170,000 with “a great turnout everywhere”.

Six-year-old standard white poodle Archie, and his mate Charlie, skipped happily with their owners, who said it was the perfect weather to stride out for a good cause.

“Archie’s pretty tired, but it’s a great cause, and it’s good for him,” said Ashleigh Taylor, 26, of Highbury.

Ms Jones said the RSPCA relied on SA’s dog lovers to help to raise funds for all of its animal-welfare work.

Walks across SA included events in Victor Harbor, Murray Bridge and Port Lincoln. For updates, millionpawswalk.com.au/SA
