FORMER skipper Nic Stirzaker’s time with the Rebels is officially over with the Super Rugby club formally releasing the halfback.

He and flanker Jordy Reid have signed with new clubs in England.

Having led the Rebels for two seasons, Stirzaker joined English powerhouse Saracens in January on a short term injury cover.

However with Test halfback Will Genia and ex Force playmaker Michael Ruru now at the Rebels, Stirzaker decided his future lay elsewhere.

“After ongoing dialogue between the club and Stirzaker’s management, it has been agreed the scrumhalf will remain in the United Kingdom after agreeing to a multi year deal with recently promoted Bristol Rugby Club,” the Rebels said in a statement on Friday.

Stirzaker won 60 caps with the Rebels, and also steered the Rising to the National Rugby Championship title as captain in 2014.

Reid joins Greene King IPA Championship side, Ealing Trailfinders, after 41 appearance for Melbourne since his debut in 2013.

Reid made just four appearances through 2017, with injury again limiting his opportunities this year.
