Fast and Furious star Jason Statham has apologised over a homophobic rant he claims he can't remember.

The Hollywood actor has been accused of shouting "stop acting like a bunch of f------ faggots" on the set of the film Wild Card.

The outburst is alleged to have occurred while the film crew was on set at Harrah's Casino in New Orleans in May 2013. Wild Card was released two years later and was a box office bomb, earning less than $9 million against a budget of more than $30 million.

British tabloid The Sun claims to have acquired a transcript of the expletive-ridden rant.

"Stop acting like a f------ fag," Statham reportedly said. "I hate that f------ faggy shit. Talking, whispering... you guys [are] acting like a bunch of f------ faggots. If you want to tell me something, don't wait 'til I do 15 f------ takes before you say something. Stop being a f------ fag and be more assertive."
