The journalist who helped bring down Harvey Weinstein is coming to Australia to shed light on his award-winning exposé.
Ronan Farrow will open up about his investigations into the disgraced movie mogul as part of the 2018 Melbourne Writers Festival. Just last month he was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his extensive reporting for The New Yorker magazine.
While The New York Times was the first outlet to publish allegations that Weinstein was a sexual predator, his story about an alleged rape and a secret recording sealed the businessman's fate and helped kick-off the global #MeToo movement.
Melbourne Writers Festival director Marieke Hardy said in a statement Farrow's appearance was a massive coup for this year's program.
"MWF could not be more honoured to welcome such a powerful and important journalistic voice in the global #MeToo movement," she said. "Ronan's New Yorker piece sparked yet another conversation the world must participate in."
