FIRE has damaged a Myaree brewery after a blaze broke out earlier tonight.

The fire started at around 7pm at the Billabong Brewery on MCcoy Street.

The brewery told followers on their Facebook page that the fire had been contained to one area of the building.

“We are sad to inform people that there has been a fire at our brewery. Luckily there was no one in the brewery, so none of us have been hurt,” Billabong Brewery said.

“At this stage it looks like the fire has remained in the office, although it is too early to say.”

The brewery thanked emergency services for their fast response

It is not known how the fire started.
