Update

ALL northbound lanes of the M1 Pacific Motorway remain closed due to a multi-vehicle crash on the Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge this afternoon.

Motorists are still advised to avoid the area and delay their trip.

Two southbound lanes of the motorway are also closed on the deck of the bridge.

Light vehicles travelling north are being diverted off the motorway at Calga and can return to the motorway at Kariong. Heavy vehicles are being held on site.

Northbound traffic on the motorway is heavy from Bar Point while southbound traffic is heavy from Kariong.

Traffic is also heavy along the Pacific Highway through the area.

Emergency services and traffic crews remain on site, cleaning up the crash site.

Anyone already travelling north on the M1 Pacific Motorway will be diverted off at Calga onto the Pacific Highway, and can rejoin the motorway at Kariong.
