While the set from last weekend's performance remained intact, Beyonce departed from the yellow tones of her Coachella debut, replaced by pinks and silvers.
The star reportedly arrived 20 minutes late to her 11.05pm set and played 10 minutes over the 1am curfew.
Her tardiness could cost Coachella organisers $US10,000 ($A13,000) a minute for playing beyond the event's scheduled finish time.
While fans around the world were able to watch Beyonce's entire April 13 performance online through a YouTube stream, only fans at the festival were able to see the second performance.
Those without tickets could only catch snippets uploaded to social media with some grabs being shared thousands of times in the hours after Beyonce's performance.
The performance drew a star-studded crowd to the Empire Polo Grounds where the event is held, spotted among revellers were models Kendall Jenner and Haliley Baldwin along with rapper Cardi B who recently revealed she is pregnant.
With Coachella 2018 now over speculation has begun about who will headline next year's event. Justin Timberlake and The Rolling Stones are hotly tipped to take over Beyonce's mantle. Whether they can cause the kind of ruckus she has enjoyed remains to be seen.
