Australian artist Melinda Schneider has dropped a new single in response to the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.

The award-winning singer-songwriter released her latest single, My Voice, over the weekend ahead of a full album due out later this year. The single tackles the cultural change that has swept through Hollywood and the broader entertainment industries.

Schneider has said all profits made from song downloads will help create workplace environments free of sexual harassment. The Proceeds will be given to Tracey Spicer's not-for-profit Now Australia.

The singer said she hoped the single will help put an end to the "conspiracy of silence".

"Most of us have experienced something we've felt unable to speak about," she said. "Twenty years ago, you just didn't discuss topics like sex abuse or mental health. They were strictly taboo.
