New Zealand's Trent Boult has taken an incredible one-handed catch to dismiss Virat Kohli, stopping himself dead barely centimetres from the boundary rope during their IPL match.

Boult ended up on the losing side as his Delhi Daredevils side saw Royal Challengers chase down a six-wicket win with relative ease, thanks to AB de Villiers smashing 90 off just 39 balls.

But such was the quality of Boult's aerial hanger, that his one-handed leap to pluck a ball headed for six runs will live long in the memory over the South African's innings.

The Daredevils' Harshal Patel offered a limp hip-high full toss to the dangerous Kohli (30 from 26) down the leg side, with the India captain belting the ball behind square leg, seemingly into the stands.

But Boult reached out with his right hand fully stretched while falling backwards, clasping the ball cleanly and falling to the turf, all while making sure he did not make contact with the boundary rope.

Boult was barely a centimetre or two from the rope — he was practically peeking over it with his head — but after conferring with television replays, umpires were satisfied that no part of his body had touched on to concede the six.

Kohli looked visibly stunned, mouth agape as he looked to partner de Villiers while the umpires convened. Whatever assurances he may have received counted for nothing.

Any fears that it would be a match-changing moment, however, were allayed by de Villiers, who totted up 10 fours and five sixes to help Royal Challengers chase down the target of 175 for the loss of just four wickets, and two overs to spare.]
