Essendon was tipped to be one of the big improvers this year after recruiting three big names in the off-season — Jake Stringer, Adam Saad and Devon Smith — but so far the Bombers haven’t lived up to the pre-season hype.
After a shock loss to the Bulldogs last Sunday, John Worsfold’s team has been under the microscope during the week and if they are to relieve the pressure, they’ll need to beat the only undefeated team, Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.

For St Kilda, who were smashed by Adelaide, the task isn’t any easier. The Saints head down the highway to GMHBA Stadium to face a Geelong side that will also be looking to bounce back after a loss to West Coast.
The Cats are, however, without Gary Ablett as the club battles a number of key injuries.
At the MCG, Hawthorn and Melbourne will do battle in what is one of the most intriguing games of the round as both are expected to be in the finals race.
