Trainer Chris Waller said it was pure relief after another dominant win by the champion mare.
“It’s hard to explain. It’s an amazing sport. She’s our girl. There was great competition today,” Waller said as he fought back the tears.
IS WINX THE GREATEST RACEHORSE OF ALL TIME?
“What an amazing thrill she gives me. It’s an incredible moment,” winning jockey Hugh Bowman said.
When told they would make a movie about this achievement today, Bowman quipped: “They’ll have to find someone attractive to play me.”
Channel Seven guest commentator and jockey Kate Mallyon when remembered the greats in recent history — Black Caviar, Makybe Diva and now Winx — pointed out something to her male counterparts: “And they’ve all been girls.”
