A civil suit has been filed in the US against the Assad Regime, accused of assassinating an American war reporter and celebrating her death. The suit alleges high-ranking military and intelligence officials deliberately targeted Marie Colvin and Remi Ochlik in a rocket attack in the besieged city of Homs. Lawyers working on behalf of Ms Colvin claim senior Syrian officials celebrated upon hearing news of her death. Centre for Justice and Accountability claims the incident was an extra-judicial killing and a violation of international law. The Syrian Government has denied the accusations.
