A drug user who physically and verbally abused his partner for four years, including stomping on her stomach while she was pregnant and separately causing a ruptured spleen, has been jailed for eight years.

Daniel John McAlinden, 48, pleaded guilty to four charges and was convicted by a WA District Court jury of five others.

McAlinden must spend at least six years behind bars before he will be eligible for parole, and was also issued a lifetime violence restraining order.
