Mr Sridhar and Mr Mural are friends and the chef had been wanting to move to Brisbane with his family for a long time but was waiting for the right opportunity.

“My dream is to share my style in presenting Indian cuisine in a way which is relevant to diners across the world,” Mr Mural said.

Michelin-starred chef Manjunath Mural will move to Brisbane from Singapore to open a new restaurant at Brisbane Quarter.

Michelin-starred chef Manjunath Mural will move to Brisbane from Singapore to open a new restaurant at Brisbane Quarter.

The new restaurant will take traditional Indian preparation methods and blend them with flavours from Australia.

Mr Penumechu said himself and Mr Mural believed Brisbane's dining audiences were becoming increasingly sophisticated.

"What Chef Mural will bring to the table for locals and international visitors is high quality, world-class dining," he said.

"Brisbane diners will not have seen something like this in Brisbane before, it will be a truly unique dining experience."Mr Penumechu said the Brisbane Quarter restaurant was the first opportunity for him and his friend to create a premium, world-class dining destination together in Australia.

“Our new restaurant will take Asian-Indian cuisine to a new level,” he said.

"Brisbane's dining scene is continually evolving and we believe now is the right time to open such a restaurant. We feel Brisbane is ready for this style of restaurant.

“At Brisbane Quarter we will bring our international talents together with Nick Pinn’s success and creativity from Malt to inject a fresh experience to the Brisbane dining landscape.”

British-born Mr Pinn said he had a passion for helping people to explore new indulgences in high-end and bespoke spirits.

“In this location, with the calibre of Chef Mural’s cuisine and the vision of Sridhar for the space and atmosphere, we will really create something special,” he said.

“I am now looking forward to the next challenge with Brisbane Quarter, where the talents of a great group of people will combine to craft a very unique and exceptional dining and hospitality destination.”

Mr Pinn has been behind the five restaurants, including the recently opened Drum at Newstead, and two craft retail liquor outlets in Brisbane over the past 15 years.

Other restaurants opening at the Brisbane Quarter include the new Persone Italian restaurant by the Gambaro family and Three Blue Ducks.

The restaurant is expected to open mid-year.
