The South Australian Liberals have apologised over campaign statements on their energy plan that the Electoral Commissioner has ruled "inaccurate and misleading".

Commissioner Mick Sherry made the finding after the party claimed in flyers and robo-calls that its plan would save households more than $300 a year.

A day after announcing the policy last October, Opposition Leader Steven Marshall himself conceded as much as $230 could be saved by households under the status quo.

"Well what we're saying is, if there was any confusion, we apologise," Mr Marshall said.

A statement from the party appeared on social media on Wednesday night, and the Liberal energy plan website appears to have been taken down.

But the Liberals continue to disagree with the ruling over their plan, which includes subsidised home solar and battery systems and an interconnector to New South Wales.

"Neither of the other parties that are seeking to form government in South Australia have done anything like what the Liberal Party has done," Mr Marshall said.

"We're going to be campaigning on it all the way through until six o'clock when polls close on Saturday."

Labor launched an advertising blitz over the error on Wednesday night, hours before a television and radio blackout came into effect.

Premier Jay Weatherill told FIVEaa radio that the Liberal apology did not go far enough.

"You've thumbed your nose at it, it would be like a copper pulling up and giving you a fine, but saying 'yes sir I respectfully disagree with that'."

The Electoral Commissioner has also ruled a flyer from Labor senator Alex Gallacher was misleading and took aim at signage on Nick Xenophon's campaign vehicle.
