A 17-year-old boy has died in hospital after the car he was travelling in lost control and crashed near Taree in New South Wales.
Emergency services were called to Crowdy Head Road after the Nissan Pulsar veered off the road and struck a tree about 3.20pm yesterday.

The teenage passenger suffered life-threatening head injuries and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
He died this afternoon, NSW Police said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Pulsar’s driver, also a 17-year-old boy, suffered concussion and remains at Port Macquarie Hospital.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
The fatality is the sixth in the state this weekend, with five crash-related deaths recorded between Friday and Saturday night. The spate of deaths has prompted police to warn drivers to be safe on roads.
“It’s time for all road users to re-think their driving behaviour,” Chief Inspector Phil Brooks said yesterday.
The total of deaths is 29 more than this time last year.
